Moss Agate is a variety of Chalcedony frequently containing green mineral inclusions (eg Chlorite, Hornblende, etc.) or brown to black dendrites of iron or manganese oxides. Moss Agate forms when volcanic magma cools and changed into an igneous rock. Silica acids that were once gases and liquids become solid Quartz. Different minerals mix into the layers of the Quartz, forming Agates. In the human body, iron is a vital element by making metabolism possible.
