Chalcopyrite is a copper iron sulfide mineral that is formed in many different ways. It may be made during igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic processes. Often times, the mineral combines with, replaces, or enters in the joints of preexisting rock. It contains rich brass gold colors and sometimes has iridescent colors due to weathering. Over time, weathering may also lead to the formation of other minerals such as Malachite and Azurite. Within the human body, the element copper facilitates healthy cell growth and is effective for detoxification. Also, copper promotes proper development of female sex organs and menstruation cycles. The greatest concentrates in one’s body are in the blood, liver, and in the brain. Copper is used for radio frequency (RF) shielding because it absorbs radio and magnetic waves. Iron is vital elements for the human body. Iron makes metabolism possible and it is present in healthy red blood cells. Sulphur, which helps the body detox, encourages the elimination of disease and serves as the bodies defensive strength.
Chalcopyrite gets its name from the Greek word chalkos, meaning copper, and pyrite, meaning striking fire. It has been the world’s main source of copper for over five thousand years. Chalcopyrite was believed to be used dating back to as early as 3900 B.C.E. by the Egyptians. They used it to create bronze, marking the start of the Bronze Age. The Native Americans used Chalcopyrite in ceremonies and tribal activities to promote stability.
